On 22 and 23 February 2018, Wieners+Wieners GmbH will be making an appearance at Elia’s Together conference. The industry get-together for freelancers and language service providers is taking place in Athens. The specialist for translations of advertising and marketing language will share its expertise with the audience as part of a lecture – and raise awareness for the particular requirements of advertising and marketing translations for foreign-language target markets.
Elia’s Together conference is the annual event for freelancers and language service providers put on by the European Language Industry Association (Elia). This year, the expert attendees will come together in Athens for lectures, for networking and to get to know each other.
In this context, Wieners+Wieners will present a lecture on the requirements with regard to the translation of advertising and marketing texts. As a full-service provider with more than 1,000 freelancers around the world, the company has specialised in the translation of texts from this segment, among other things.
Using incisive practical examples, Josephine Burmester and Jessica Mann from the Freelancer Management department will explain how translators can best meet the demands of their customers – for example when translating campaigns and slogans or when adapting a corporate identity for foreign-language target markets. Technical challenges such as the adaptation of key words for search engine optimisation and advertising will also be discussed.
