Ahrensburg – This year, for the first time, Wieners+Wieners GmbH will be donating to the non-profit organisation Translators without Borders (TWB). As a bronze level sponsor, the company’s donation helps to fund the activities of volunteer translators working in regions affected by war, epidemics or persecution.

Communicating in a particular language is the key to education and information and can even help to reduce prejudices and mistrust. By supporting various charitable projects in recent years, Wieners+Wieners has made a contribution to the understanding between different sectors of the population within Germany. With the donation to Translators without Borders, Wieners+Wieners has now taken the first step towards a social commitment on an international level.

Translators without Borders was established in 1993 as Traducteurs sans Frontières and, since then, has been committed to supporting communication in war-torn regions. On the one hand, a far-reaching network of volunteer translators actively supports humanitarian organisations with translation needs in 150 languages worldwide. On the other hand, training is provided for professional translators in languages for which there are currently too few or no specialists to be found. This sort of commitment is near and dear to the heart of the Ahrensburg-based language services provider – especially in these times of crisis and war.

“As a company involved in comprehensive linguistic projects, we have an excellent understanding for the necessity of correctly translating information,” says Kai-Dominik Weyel, managing partner of Wieners+Wieners. “As regards humanitarian efforts, this can offer hope and even save lives. On top of that, TWB is making a significant difference in terms of increasing understanding across the globe, which is why it is so important to support this organisation.”
